According to Eldredge, every little boy wants to have one question answered: "Do I have what it takes?" And every little girl wants to know, "Am I lovely?" And every little boy and little girl looks to his or her father for the answer to the question. Therefore every father's job is to answer the question in the affirmative. In doing so, the father becomes the most powerful man in the world.
This is a tiny book with a simple but important message. When I was interim pastoring in Longview, Texas, we used it as a Father's Day gift to the men at our church. It is a great reminder of the power that a father has to influence his children in a positive way.
