People strong in the Maximizer theme focus on strengths as a way to stimulate personal and group excellence. They seek to transform something strong into something superb.
I am much more interested in going into a situation that is good and helping to turn it into an excellent one than I am in going into a bad situation and making it average. To do so, I know that I need to find the right people to form a high-performance team, and then capitalize on the strengths of those individuals. Any goal short of excellence is not worth having. One of my favorite sayings is, "It's better to shoot at a star and miss, than to shoot at a skunk and hit."
