My Aspirations

Robert H (Bob ) Roller, Ph.D.

Dean, Jetter School of Business
Mount Vernon Nazarene University

Secretary, Board of Directors
Christian Business Faculty Association

What are my aspirations? I aspire to make a difference in the lives of students—both traditional age and adult learners. I am motivated to provide leadership that results in organizational or personal excellence. More and more, however, I realize that God's timing is essential in my quest for excellence. Just because God gives me a vision of how something can be, does not necessarily mean that it's going to happen today. Some of the best ideas take time to develop.

Some of my goals and aspirations include:

  • To daily allow Christ to be the center of my life
  • To be the best father than I can be to my daughters, so that they grow up to be women who have a positive influence on the kingdom of God
  • To be a loving husband to my wonderful wife, Wanda
  • To use my leadership/administrative gifts and abilities to help colleges and universities attain excellence
  • To be an effective teacher in university and church settings, helping individuals to view the world through effective paradigms--so that they can make a difference for God
  • To be spiritually, mentally, and physically fit
